Tibon combines some of the best old Colombian/Puerto Rican bloodlines, including the best of the pintos. A very compact 14h,¾”, he is very strongly gaited, including gaiting at liberty in the pasture, and under saddle, collected or uncollected. While I agree that many PF pintos are fairly “loose” gaited, Tibon has a very typey, quick, light “finoish” gait style, yet it able to gait both tightly and with a long, reaching stride as well, with very smooth, athletic transitions from tight to extended, just a wonderfully balanced horse in

all respects. I attribute this to the fact that he is mildly linebred on El Capricho, a full Colombian stallion that was a 2 time RNCh in APF(original association) in fino and conformation, known for producing what can best be called, “gaiting fools,” just exceptionally natural and typey gaited horses that gait as easily as they breathe.

 

His sire is a well known son of Pegasus Estaban, probably the all time most prolific producer of quality Paso Fino pintos, sired by GNCh Performance horse, Bandolero Royal (by Top Ten Sire, multi NCh winner, PR blooded Marichal-who won in BF, Fino, Perf, Pleasure, Versatility), and out of Colombian“que tal” import, multiple NCh producer,Endora. Encino’s dam’s side includes NCh Garbo que tal ( Hilachas x Sombra, Favorito’s dam), NC Preciosa de Viz-Caya(by El Capricho). His dam, Anita de Mulata, is sired by Colombian Caprimero de Sorpresita, by El Capricho son El Capricon, and the famous producer, Sorpresita, while her dam was a PPR daughter of Negrito, a champion PR son of Deliete.

Tibon was only shown once in schooling, and has spent his life as a trail horse and breeding stallion, producing many level-head, beautiful well gaited trail and pleasure horses.
