Favorito Que Tal
(Baron que tal x Sombra)
1971 full Colombian dark brown dappled stallion.
Each year only one horse is inducted into the Paso Fino Horse Association’s Hall of Fame, in 2010 Favorito que tal received that honor.
He was a 4 time Top Ten Sire, 1986-89. As a showhorse he earned both Title of Proficiency and Legion of Merit. Most of his points were in Performance and Bellas Formas, but he was also a Champion in Fino and Pleasure, and 3rd National Champion in Driving, as well as having National Placements in all the above divisions and later being Reserve National Champion in the Largo Race at 25 & 26 years old.
He did all this, despite my not getting him til fall of his 6th year and started his under saddle work as a 7 year old. He was also an incredible trail horse & we "drag rode" on several competitive and endurance rides as well. Above all, he was my best friend.....
Luckily, Favorito was a very prepotent sire that marked his foals with his beautiful head, conformation, strong gaitedness, true brio (work ethic), and incredible intelligence. He possessed a willingness to please and to be a true partner. That he lives on in his progeny through those qualities is clearly evident, in not only his children, but grand and great-grand children as well.
Now I have seen and understand what true immortality really is.....
